Amazon browsing history

Amazon keeps a history of the items you browse on your smartphone or desktop. Scroll through the Amazon app or website, and you will see different kinds of things you’ve browsed before. You can remove suggestions by clearing your browsing history.

This will stop Amazon from tracking your activity. It is also helpful if multiple people use your device.

Steps to clear your browsing history:

  • Log into your account.
  • Click on Account & Lists at the top of your screen.
  • Click on view or edit your browsing history.
  • Click Remove from view beneath the product.
  • You can clear the entire list by clicking remove all items from view.

Alexa Recordings

Alexa stores your recording for better accessibility. You can clear these recordings on your smartphone or desktop. The steps are given below:

  • Open the Amazon Alexa app.
  • Tap on More
  • Click on the Settings
  • Go to the Alexa Privacy.
  • Tap Review Voice History.
  • Click on managing Your Alexa Data.
  • Select how long to save recordings.
  • Select Don’t save recordings.

This will delete all of your previous recordings.

Order History

You cannot delete your order history permanently. However, you can hide your orders from the view list. It will not appear on the list again. You can do this with some simple steps.

  • Log into your account,
  • Click Returns & Orders in the top right.
  • Select Archive order.
  • A confirmation box will pop up.

You can always access an archived order. This process is to hide orders from your order menu. If you want to check your archived order, simply click Accounts & Lists, and select Archived orders.

Amazon Sidewalk

The Amazon sidewalk is a network that extends your BlueTooth and Wi-Fi connection range. It improves your range up to 1 mile. The Amazon Sidewalk network uses three layers of encryption. You can always opt-out of this service. You just need to change a few settings.

  • Tap on More.
  • Click on the settings.
  • Tap Account Settings,
  • Click on Amazon Sidewalk.
  • Turn Amazon Sidewalk off.

Echo Show

The speaker or display on the echo show goes both ways. Anyone can listen or watch your house. You can adjust your settings to prevent this from happening.

You can check who is allowed to drop in. Follow these steps

  • Open the Alexa app.
  • Click on Communicate option,
  • Select the contacts icon.
  • You will see a list of contacts allowed to drop in.

  • Select settings
  • Click on Device Settings
  • Choose the device.
  • Tap Communication,
  • Choose from permitted contacts.

Other changes

  • Disable your address book.
  • Keep Echo away from windows.
  • Regularly delete your interactions.
